Hey everyone,
So, I’m kinda freaking out rn. Someone on Instagram got my IP address, and I’m not sure what to do. Like, how to stop a person who got my IP from Instagram? I’ve heard they can track my location or something, and it’s making me super paranoid.
I’ve already changed my password and turned on two-factor auth, but idk if that’s enough. Should I contact Instagram support? Or maybe use a VPN to hide my IP? I’m not super tech-savvy, so any advice would be *huge*.
Also, has anyone dealt with this before? Like, how to stop a person who got my IP from Instagram without going full-on hacker mode? Lol.
Thanks in advance, y’all!
Hey, I totally get why you're freaking out! First off, changing your password and enabling 2FA was a great move. To stop a person who got your IP from Instagram, I’d recommend using a VPN ASAP. It’ll hide your IP and make it harder for them to track you. I use NordVPN, and it’s super easy to set up.
Also, clear your Instagram DMs if you’ve been chatting with this person—sometimes they can grab your IP through links. And yeah, contacting Instagram support wouldn’t hurt. They might not do much, but it’s worth a shot.
Stay safe!
Yo, that’s scary af. If someone got your IP from Instagram, a VPN is your best bet. I’d suggest ExpressVPN or Surfshark—they’re reliable and fast.
Also, check your Instagram settings and make sure your account is private. If they’re still bothering you, block and report them. And tbh, unless they’re super techy, they probably can’t do much with just your IP. But better safe than sorry, right?
Honestly, I’ve been in a similar situation. To stop a person who got your IP from Instagram, a VPN is the way to go. I use CyberGhost, and it’s been great for hiding my IP.
Also, make sure your Instagram account is set to private and avoid clicking on any suspicious links. If you’re still worried, you can reset your router to get a new IP address. It’s not a permanent fix, but it helps.
Good luck!
Hey, don’t stress too much! While it’s creepy that someone got your IP from Instagram, they can’t do much with it unless they’re a hacker. Still, I’d recommend using a VPN like ProtonVPN—it’s free and works well.
Also, double-check your Instagram privacy settings and avoid sharing personal info. If they’re harassing you, block them and report to Instagram. You’ve already done the basics, so you’re on the right track!
Thanks so much, everyone! I just downloaded NordVPN and set it up—super easy, and I feel way better already. I also made my Instagram private and blocked the person.
Quick question though: if I reset my router, will that give me a new IP even without the VPN? Just curious if it’s worth doing as an extra step.
Thanks again for all the advice—y’all are lifesavers!
Ugh, that’s so invasive. To stop a person who got your IP from Instagram, I’d say get a VPN immediately. I use Private Internet Access, and it’s been solid for me.
Also, make sure your Instagram DMs are set to “message requests only” so randos can’t just slide into your DMs. And yeah, resetting your router can give you a new IP, but a VPN is a more permanent solution.
Stay safe out there!
Hey, I’ve dealt with this before, and it’s super unsettling. To stop a person who got your IP from Instagram, a VPN is your best friend. I’d recommend Surfshark—it’s affordable and easy to use.
Also, avoid clicking on any links they send you, and make sure your Instagram account is private. If they’re being creepy, block and report them. You’ve already taken some great steps, so don’t worry too much!
