"Quick Question: How to Switch VPN Off on iPhone?"

Hey guys, kinda new to this whole VPN thing and I’m stuck lol.

I turned on a VPN earlier (using Nord btw), but now I can’t figure out *how to switch vpn off on iphone*. Like, it’s not in the settings where I thought it’d be?

I went to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management, but it’s just… not there? Am I missing something obvious?

Also, does it drain battery if I leave it on?

Thanks in advance! 🙏

*PS: If it helps, I’m on iOS 16. And yes, I tried restarting my phone already haha.*
Hey! If you're using NordVPN, you can actually turn it off directly from the app. Just open NordVPN, tap the big power button in the middle, and boom—VPN’s off.

For system-wide settings, go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management, then tap the (i) next to your VPN and toggle it off. Sometimes it glitches tho, so closing the app fully helps.

And yeah, leaving it on *can* drain battery, but not massively. Hope that helps!
lol been there. The VPN toggle can be sneaky! Try this:

1. Open Settings
2. Tap your Apple ID at the top
3. Scroll to "VPN & Device Management"
4. Toggle off the VPN

If it’s still ghosting you, force-quit NordVPN and check again. iOS 16 can be weird with VPNs sometimes.

Btw, Nord’s support site has a solid guide on how to switch vpn off on iphone if you’re still stuck.
Pro tip: Swipe down for Spotlight Search and type "VPN." It’ll shortcut you straight to the settings.

Also, NordVPN has a widget! Add it to your Home Screen for quick on/off.

Battery drain? Eh, depends on the server distance. Close the app when you’re done to save juice.
Wait, is it not showing under VPN & Device Management? That’s odd. Try this:

- Open NordVPN app
- Go to Settings (gear icon)
- Toggle off "Auto-connect"

Sometimes the app overrides system settings. If that doesn’t work, uninstall/reinstall?

And yep, VPNs eat battery, especially if you’re streaming.
Yo, random thought—did you try turning off "Lockdown Mode"? It messes with VPN visibility.

Settings > Privacy & Security > Lockdown Mode > Off

Then check VPN settings again. Also, Nord’s website has a troubleshooting page for iOS 16 VPN issues.

Oh wow, thanks everyone! Didn’t expect so many replies haha.

The Nord app trick worked—tapping the power button shut it off. Weird that it didn’t show in system settings though.

Follow-up Q: Does toggling it off in the app *fully* disconnect it, or should I still dig into settings?

(And good to know about the battery—was lowkey paranoid.)
Dude, same thing happened to me last week. The toggle vanished!

Turns out, NordVPN was running in "Always-on VPN" mode. Had to:
1. Open Nord app
2. Hamburger menu > Settings
3. Kill the "Always-on" option

Then it showed up in system settings again. Weird bug.
For real tho, iOS 16 hides VPN stuff weirdly. Try this path:

Settings > General > VPN (yes, just VPN, not "VPN & Device Management")

If it’s blank, your VPN might’ve disconnected already. Nord’s app should show status.

Battery? Not a huge deal unless you’re gaming 24/7.
If you’re still stuck, Nord’s 24/7 chat support is clutch. They walked me through how to switch vpn off on iphone in like 2 mins.

Otherwise, double-check if you’re on the latest app version. Older versions sometimes bug out on iOS 16.

PS: Battery drain is overhyped unless you’re using sketchy free VPNs.
