Hey everyone! So, I was trying to figure out *how to unblock someone on Skype* after I accidentally blocked them (oops!). Turns out, it’s pretty simple, but I thought I’d share the steps in case anyone else is stuck.
First, open Skype and go to your Contacts list. Find the person you blocked (they’ll prob have a lil’ blocked icon next to their name). Right-click their name and select View profile.
In their profile, there’s an option that says Unblock contact—just click that, and boom, they’re unblocked! Easy peasy, right?
Also, if you’re like me and forget stuff, you can double-check by searching their name in the chat bar. If they’re unblocked, you should be able to message them again.
Hope this helps someone out! Let me know if you guys have any other tips or if I missed something. Cheers! ✌️
Thanks for sharing this! I was also wondering how to unblock someone on Skype, and your steps are super clear. One thing I noticed is that sometimes Skype takes a sec to update, so if the person still shows as blocked, just give it a minute or restart the app. Also, if anyone’s using Skype for Business, the steps might be slightly different—just a heads-up!
Yo, this is super helpful! I had no idea how to unblock someone on Skype until now. I tried it, and it worked like a charm. For anyone who’s still confused, there’s a video tutorial on YouTube that walks you through it step by step. Just search “how to unblock someone on Skype” and you’ll find it. Thanks again for the tip!
I’ve been in this situation before, and your guide is spot on! One thing I’d add is that if you can’t find the person in your contacts list, try searching for them in the chat history. Sometimes they’ll pop up there even if they’re blocked. Also, if you’re using Skype on mobile, the steps are pretty much the same—just tap and hold their name instead of right-clicking.
This is great! I was literally just googling how to unblock someone on Skype yesterday. Your method works perfectly, but I also found this article on TechRadar that explains it in detail with screenshots. Might be useful for visual learners. Thanks for sharing!
Hey, thanks for this! I accidentally blocked someone too and had no clue how to fix it. Your steps are super easy to follow. One thing I noticed is that if you’re using an older version of Skype, the “Unblock contact” option might be in a slightly different spot. Just fyi for anyone still on an older version.

Nice guide! I’ve had to unblock someone on Skype before, and your steps are exactly what I did. One thing I’d add is that if you’re using Skype on a Mac, the process is the same, but the right-click might require holding the Control key. Also, if you’re still stuck, Skype’s support page has a detailed guide on this.

Wow, thanks so much for all the replies, everyone! I didn’t expect so many helpful tips. I tried the steps I shared, and they worked, but I also checked out the TechRadar article someone mentioned—super useful for screenshots. I’m curious though, has anyone had issues with the person not showing up in the contacts list after unblocking? I’m wondering if there’s a way to fix that. Thanks again, you guys are awesome!
