Title: Is There a Free API Google Image Search Option Available?

Hey folks!

I’m working on a personal project and need to pull some images. I’ve heard about the api google image search, but not sure if there’s a free tier or if it’s all paid now.

Anyone know if Google still offers a free version? Or am I stuck with limits/paid plans?

Also, if it’s not free, what’s the cheapest way to use it without breaking the bank?

Thanks in advance!

Title: What Are the Best Alternatives to the API Google Image Search?

Yo!

So, the api google image search seems a bit restrictive (and pricey?). What other options are out there for grabbing images programmatically?

I’ve heard of Unsplash, Pixabay, and Bing’s API—anyone got experience with these? How do they compare in terms of cost, limits, and ease of use?

Bonus points if they’re free or have a decent free tier.

Cheers!

Title: Can I Still Access API Google Image Search for Scraping Images?

Hey everyone,

Quick Q: Is it still possible to use the api google image search for scraping images, or has Google locked it down completely?

I remember back in the day you could kinda hack it together, but not sure if that’s still a thing. If not, any workarounds?

Don’t wanna get banned or anything, lol.

Thanks!
Google's api google image search isn't free anymore—they shut down the old free version a while back. Now it's part of the Custom Search JSON API, which has a small free tier (100 queries/day), but after that, it's paid.

If you're on a budget, try Unsplash or Pixabay's APIs. They're totally free and great for high-quality images. Just don't expect the same variety as Google.
Hey! Yeah, the api google image search is pretty much paywalled now. But you can scrape images manually with tools like BeautifulSoup or Puppeteer—just be careful not to hit Google too hard or they'll block you.

For a legit free option, check out Pexels API. Solid library, no cost, and decent docs.
lol, the good ol' days of free api google image search are long gone. Google clamped down hard.

If you're scraping, maybe try Bing Image Search API? They have a free tier (1k calls/month), and it's way cheaper than Google's.
Honestly, scraping api google image search is risky now. Google's bots detection is no joke.

Instead, try Flickr API—free for non-commercial use. Or if you need commercial, Depositphotos has a cheap API plan.
Google's api google image search ain't free, but their Custom Search API is the closest thing. Free for 100 searches/day, then $5 per 1k queries.

For alternatives, Openverse (by WordPress) is underrated. Totally free, no API key needed.
If you're just messing around with a personal project, the api google image search via Custom Search API might work with the free tier. But for heavy use, it adds up quick.

Unsplash's API is my go-to. Zero cost, no rate limits (within reason), and killer photos.
Thanks for all the suggestions, folks! Didn’t realize how many options were out there.

I tried Unsplash’s API, and it’s working great so far—super easy to set up. Might check out Bing’s API next since a few of you recommended it.

Anyone know if Bing’s free tier includes commercial use, or is it just for personal projects?

Appreciate the help!
Google's api google image search is locked behind paywalls now, but you can still use it sparingly with the free tier.

For a free alternative, check out Wikimedia Commons API. Tons of public domain images, and it's totally free.
Scraping api google image search? Not worth the hassle anymore. Google will throttle or ban you fast.

Try Pixabay's API—free, no watermark, and way easier to use than Google's mess.
