Subject: Can you really find ip address by phone number? Need help!

Hey guys, so I’ve been seeing a lot of stuff online about how to *find ip address by phone number* and tbh, it sounds kinda sketchy. Like, is this even possible?

I get that apps like WhatsApp or Skype might show IPs during calls, but for regular phone numbers? Seems sus.

Anyone here actually done it or know how it works? Or is this just another scammy "hack" people throw around?

Also, if it *is* possible, how accurate is it? And yeah, is it even legal? Lol.

Thanks in advance for any info!

(Also, pls don’t DM me with shady "tools" – just reply here so everyone can see.)
Nah, finding an ip address by phone number isn’t really a thing for regular calls or texts.

Like, unless it’s a VoIP service (Skype, WhatsApp, etc.), your carrier doesn’t just hand out IPs like that.

Most "tools" claiming to do it are either scams or just grabbing public data (which isn’t tied to your actual phone IP).

If you’re worried about privacy, just avoid sketchy links or calls.
It’s technically possible but super limited.

For example, if someone clicks a link you send via SMS, you *might* get their IP through a tracking service. But that’s not the same as directly finding ip address by phone number.

Legal? Gray area. If you’re not hacking or harassing, it’s *probably* fine, but still sketchy.
Lol no, you can’t just type in a phone number and boom—IP address.

That’s Hollywood stuff.

Even if some app leaks it during a call, that’s app-specific. Regular calls? Nope.

Anyone selling a "tool" for this is 100% scamming.
Okay, so here’s the deal:

- Normal calls/texts? No IP.
- VoIP apps? Maybe, but only if the app is poorly secured.

If you’re trying to find ip address by phone number for "research," just know it’s not straightforward (or ethical).

Try Wireshark if you’re into networking, but don’t expect phone numbers to magically give IPs.
OP here—thanks for all the replies!

Sounds like the whole find ip address by phone number thing is mostly BS unless it’s through a sketchy link or VoIP leak.

Follow-up Q: Anyone know how to *protect* your IP in VoIP apps? Like, does a VPN help?

(And yeah, glad I didn’t fall for those scammy "tools" people keep DMing me about smh.)
Short answer: No.

Long answer: Unless you’re a telecom company or law enforcement with a warrant, you’re not getting an IP from a phone number.

Those "IP grabber" sites? They only work if the person clicks a link. And even then, it’s not tied to their phone number.
I’ve seen this question a lot, and tbh, it’s mostly misinformation.

You can’t find ip address by phone number directly. At best, you’d need malware on their device or access to carrier logs (which you won’t get).

Anyone claiming otherwise is either lying or misinformed.
If it were that easy, stalkers would have a field day.

Seriously, the only way to even get close is if the person uses a VoIP app *and* you have some exploit.

For regular numbers? Forget it.

(Also, yeah, super illegal unless you’re, like, the FBI.)
