"How reliable is PIA SOCKS5 for torrenting and anonymity?"
Hey folks, been using PIA SOCKS5 for a while now and wanted to get some opinions.
For torrenting, it's *decent*—speeds are better than a full VPN, but is it really anonymous? I know SOCKS5 doesn’t encrypt traffic, so it’s not as secure as PIA’s regular VPN.
But hey, it’s lightweight and doesn’t slow things down as much. Anyone else noticed fewer ISP throttling issues with pia socks5?
On the flip side, I’ve heard mixed things about IP leaks. Some say it’s solid, others claim it’s risky for true anonymity. What’s your experience?
Also, does pia socks5 actually hide your IP from peers, or is it just a basic proxy? Kinda confused on that part.

I've been using pia socks5 for torrenting for about a year now, and it’s been pretty solid for speed. Yeah, it doesn’t encrypt like their VPN, but if you’re just trying to avoid ISP throttling, it works.
