So, I’m taking this online course, and it’s *huge*—like, tons of pages and videos. I keep losing track of where specific topics are mentioned.
Does anyone know of a Chrome extension find text in entire online course kinda tool? Something that can search across all the pages, videos, and maybe even transcripts?
I’ve tried a few, but they either don’t work well or are super clunky. Hoping someone’s got a solid rec!
Also, if it’s free or cheap, that’d be a bonus lol.

Hey! I feel your pain—online courses can be a mess to navigate. I’ve been using Video Highlight for Chrome, and it’s been a lifesaver. It lets you search across video transcripts and even highlights the text in the video timeline. Not sure if it works for all platforms, but it’s worth a shot!
Also, if your course has downloadable PDFs or slides, try DocFetcher. It’s not a Chrome extension, but it’s great for searching through local files.

omg i had the same issue last semester! i ended up using Kami for PDFs and docs—it’s not exactly a chrome extension find text in entire online course tool, but it lets you annotate and search within files.
for videos, i’d recommend Transcript Hunter. it’s a bit hit or miss depending on the platform, but it’s free and works decently for YouTube and some learning sites.

Wow, thanks so much for all the suggestions, everyone! I tried SuperSearch and Ctrl+F Plus based on your recs, and they’re working pretty well so far. Still figuring out the video part, but Transcript Hunter seems promising.
Quick question though—has anyone used Memex with Coursera or Udemy? I’m curious if it works well with those platforms.

it’s not perfect, but it’s free and way better than nothing. also, if your course has downloadable content, Everything (for Windows) is a game-changer for local searches.
