Subject: Need Help: How to Disable Proxy Settings on My Computer?

Hey guys,

I’m having major connection issues and think it’s cuz of proxy settings. Tried googling *how to disable proxy* but the steps are confusing af.

Anyone know a simple way to turn it off completely? Using Windows 10 btw.

Also, does disabling proxy mess with anything else? Kinda worried lol.

Thanks in advance!

Yo,

My internet’s acting up and I suspect it’s the proxy. Tried figuring out *how to disable proxy* but no luck.

Anyone got a quick guide? Or maybe a screenshot?

Using a Mac if that helps.

Thx!

Subject: Stuck with Proxy Settings – How to Disable Proxy Completely?

Ugh, this proxy thing is driving me nuts.

Need to disable it but dunno where to start. Every tutorial assumes I’m a tech genius lol.

Pls help – *how to disable proxy* without breaking anything?

Windows 11 here.

Cheers!
Hey! For Windows 10, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy. Under "Manual proxy setup," toggle off "Use a proxy server."

If you're still stuck, check out Microsoft's support page on how to disable proxy. They’ve got screenshots and everything.

And nah, disabling it shouldn’t break anything unless your work/school requires it.
yo i had the same issue last week! on windows 11, just hit win + i, then network & internet > proxy. turn off the manual proxy thingy.

if ur still confused, this vid helped me: [insert youtube link]. super easy steps.
For Mac users: Open System Preferences > Network > Advanced > Proxies. Uncheck ALL the proxy options. Hit OK and Apply.

Also, if you’re using a VPN or something, disabling proxy might not fix everything. Just FYI!
Bro, just run a quick command in Command Prompt (admin):
`netsh winhttp reset proxy`

Boom, proxy gone. Works on Win 10/11. No fuss.

If you’re paranoid, backup settings first lol.
If you’re getting connection issues, it might not JUST be the proxy. Try resetting your network too (Settings > Network Reset).

But yeah, how to disable proxy is easy—just uncheck the boxes in the proxy settings. Google’s guide has pics if you need ‘em.
lol i feel u, proxies are annoying af. On Windows, sometimes crap like "automatically detect settings" messes things up. Turn that OFF too.

Also, malware can mess with proxy settings. Run a scan with Malwarebytes just in case.
For a no-nonsense fix, try this:
1. Press Win + R, type `inetcpl.cpl`, hit Enter.
2. Go to Connections > LAN settings.
3. Uncheck "Use a proxy server."

Done. No tech degree needed.
If you’re on a work/school network, disabling proxy might block your internet. Check with IT first.

Otherwise, yeah, just turn it off in settings. Simple.
thx everyone! followed the steps and it worked. internet’s back to normal.

weird tho—my proxy was on even tho i never turned it on. any idea why that happens? malware?
