"Hey guys, need some help here!

I accidentally set up a proxy server on my PC, and now my internet’s acting weird. Can someone tell me *how to remove proxy server* settings?

I’ve tried googling but the steps are kinda confusing. Using Windows 10 btw.

Also, does removing it mess with anything else? Like, will my normal connection just work after?

Thanks in advance! 🙏"

"What’s the easiest way to remove a proxy server from network settings?

I think my work VPN messed things up, and now I’m stuck with proxy settings I don’t need.

Tried *how to remove proxy server* guides, but they’re all over the place. Any simple steps for Win 11?

Bonus Q: Do I need to restart after or nah?

Appreciate any tips!"

"Can someone guide me on *how to remove proxy server* configs?

My browser’s redirecting weirdly, and I suspect it’s the proxy.

I’m on macOS btw—anyone know where to find these settings?

Also, is there a way to check if it’s *fully* gone?

Thx!"
Hey! Had the same issue last week. For Windows 10, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy.

Under "Manual proxy setup," toggle off "Use a proxy server." That’s it!

Your normal connection should kick back in right away—no restart needed. If it’s still weird, try flushing DNS (google "how to flush DNS Windows 10").

Hope that helps!
omg proxies can be such a pain. For Win 11, it’s super similar to Win 10:

Settings > Network & internet > Proxy > turn off the manual proxy thingy.

No restart required, but sometimes a quick reboot fixes lingering issues. If you’re still stuck, check out NordVPN’s guide on how to remove proxy server settings—it’s pretty clear.
Mac user here! To remove proxy settings on macOS:

1. Open System Settings > Network.
2. Pick your connection (Wi-Fi/Ethernet) > click "Details" > go to "Proxies."
3. Uncheck ANY proxy boxes you see.

To confirm it’s gone, open Terminal and type `networksetup -getwebproxy Wi-Fi` (or Ethernet). If it says "disabled," you’re good!
If you’re worried about leftovers after removing the proxy, try this:

After turning it off in settings (like others said), open Chrome/Firefox and check their proxy settings too. Sometimes browsers override system settings.

Also, this site has a cool tool to check your current proxy status: whatismyproxy.com. Helped me confirm mine was fully gone!
Pro tip: If your work VPN messed things up, they might’ve pushed a script to auto-set the proxy. In that case, just removing it manually might not stick.

Try disabling the VPN entirely first, then follow the steps to remove proxy server settings. If it comes back, your IT dept might’ve locked it down—time to bother them lol.
For Windows folks, CMD can help too! Open Command Prompt as admin and run:

`netsh winhttp reset proxy`

This nukes any system-wide proxy configs. Works on Win 10/11. No restart needed, but give it a sec to apply.

If you’re still having issues, hit up Microsoft’s support page—they’ve got a detailed guide on how to remove proxy server settings.
Yo, thanks everyone! Tried the Settings > Proxy method on Win 10 and it worked.

But now my browser’s still acting up—cleared cache and all. Maybe it’s a browser-specific proxy? Gonna check Chrome’s settings like someone suggested.

Also, that whatismyproxy site is clutch. Confirmed the system proxy’s gone, so it’s def a browser thing. Appreciate the help! 🙌
