"Just got my PS5 – how long does it take to set up ps5 properly?"

Hey everyone! Super excited but also kinda overwhelmed lol. Just unboxed my PS5 and wanna get it running ASAP.

How long does it usually take to set up ps5 from scratch? Like, including updates, accounts, all that jazz.

Also, any tips to speed things up? Or common mistakes to avoid? Don’t wanna mess anything up on day one haha.

Thanks in advance! 🙌

"Setting up PS5 – is there anything I should do first?"

Yo! Finally got my hands on a PS5 and about to set it up.

But before I dive in, is there anything I *need* to do first? Like, firmware updates, account stuff, or even just positioning the console? Heard the stand can be tricky.

Also, any settings I should change right away for better performance?

Appreciate any advice! Cheers 🎮
Congrats on the PS5! The initial set up ps5 process usually takes about 20-30 mins if everything goes smooth.

But if there’s a big system update, it could take longer. Pro tip: connect to Ethernet if you can—Wi-Fi downloads might slow things down.

Also, skip the disc setup until after the system updates. And don’t forget to enable rest mode downloads so updates happen faster in the future.

Check out PlayStation’s official setup guide if you get stuck.
Yo, welcome to the PS5 club! Setup’s pretty straightforward but here’s what I’d do:

1. Plug it in and let it update FIRST before doing anything else.
2. Use the PS App to sign in—way faster than typing on the controller.
3. Position it vertical if you’ve got space, but make sure the stand’s clicked in right.

Biggest mistake? Rushing through settings. Tweak stuff like HDR and performance mode early.
Took me like 45 mins to set up ps5 fully, mostly ‘cause of updates.

If you wanna speed it up, pre-download the PS app and log in there. Also, avoid peak times for updates—late night or early morning downloads are quicker.

Oh, and don’t skip the controller update! Some games feel weird if you don’t.
Honestly, the set up ps5 part is easy—just follow the prompts. But here’s what nobody tells you:

- The stand is annoying. If horizontal, slide the cover off first.
- Enable “performance mode” in settings if you care about FPS.
- Backup your PS4 data *before* if you’re transferring.

And yeah, updates can take a while. Grab a snack.
Set up ps5 is quick if you prep:

- Have your PSN login ready.
- Update the controller ASAP (plug it in).
- Position it somewhere with good airflow—this thing gets toasty.

For settings, turn off “adaptive triggers” if you don’t care for ‘em. And yeah, the stand sucks.

Sweet, thanks for all the tips! Didn’t realize the PS App could speed things up—just downloaded it.

Also, went wired for the updates and it’s flying. One question though: should I transfer my PS4 stuff now or wait? Heard it can slow things down.

Appreciate the help! 🙏
PS5 setup time? Depends on your internet lol. Mine took an hour ‘cause my Wi-Fi’s trash.

Do yourself a favor and use a wired connection. Also, if you’ve got a USB drive, back up your PS4 games first—saves time.

And don’t forget to charge the controller! Nothing worse than it dying mid-setup.
