"Hey everyone, new here and kinda lost lol.
I’m looking for the best freeware proxy server to keep my browsing private and secure. There’s so many options out there, but which one do you guys actually trust?
I’ve tried a couple, but some feel sketchy or slow af. Need something reliable for basic anonymity—nothing too fancy, just doesn’t log my stuff.
Any recommendations for the best freeware proxy server? Or should I just stick with VPNs instead?
Thanks in advance! 🙏"

Or a shorter version:
"Quick question—what’s the best freeware proxy server you’ve used?
Need something free, decent speed, and actually private. No shady logging stuff.
Bonus if it’s easy to set up lol. TIA!"
Hey! Welcome to the forum. If you're looking for the best freeware proxy server, I’d recommend trying Hide.me's free proxy. It’s pretty solid for basic anonymity and doesn’t log your data.
Speed’s decent too, though free options always have limits. If you need something more reliable, a VPN might be better, but for quick browsing, this works.
Setup’s easy—just hop on their site and toggle it on. No sketchy stuff so far!
Yo, free proxies can be hit or miss tbh. I’ve used KProxy for a while and it’s one of the better freeware proxy servers out there.
No logging (as far as I know), and it’s super easy to use—just bookmark their site and click to activate. Speed’s okay for casual browsing, but don’t expect miracles.
If you’re super paranoid, yeah, go VPN. But for light use, this’ll do.
Honestly, most free proxies are trash—slow or shady. But ProxySite.com is one of the few I’d trust for basic privacy.
It’s web-based, so no install needed, and they claim no logging. Speed’s alright for a free service.
That said, if you’re serious about security, a free VPN like ProtonVPN’s free tier might be worth considering. Just saying.
I feel you on the sketchy proxy struggle lol. VPNBook offers a free proxy list that’s decent.
It’s not the fastest, but it’s legit and doesn’t log (according to them). Plus, you can grab the proxy IPs and plug ’em into your browser manually if you wanna avoid their site.
For real anonymity though, a VPN is way better. But if you’re just dipping your toes, this works.
OP here—thanks for all the suggestions! Tried KProxy and ProxySite.com so far, and they’re both working okay for basic stuff.
KProxy’s a bit faster, but ProxySite’s simpler to use. Still kinda paranoid about logging though—anyone know if these are *really* no-log?
Might check out Hide.me next. Appreciate the help! 🙌
Proxies are kinda outdated imo, but if you’re set on a freeware proxy server, FilterBypass is worth a shot.
No install, just paste the URL and go. Speed’s meh, but it’s free and doesn’t log (supposedly).
For anything serious, though, I’d just use Windscribe’s free VPN—10GB/month and way more secure.
Lol, free proxies are a gamble, but Hidester is one of the better ones I’ve tried.
Web-based, no logs (they say), and decent speed for a free service. Super easy to use—just type in the site you wanna visit.
But yeah, if you can swing it, a cheap VPN is 100% the move. Free stuff always has limits.
