What is the use of a proxy server on Kodi, and do I really need one?

A proxy server on Kodi is mostly for privacy and accessing geo-blocked content. If you’re not into that, you can skip it.

But if you want to try one, I’d suggest using a VPN instead. They’re more secure and easier to set up. NordVPN is my favorite.
It’s not necessary for casual streaming, but a proxy server on Kodi can be helpful if you’re trying to access blocked content or stay anonymous.

I’ve been using ProtonVPN, and it’s been great. Super easy to set up and works well with Kodi.
