Title: What's the best way to use youtube to proxy for unblocking videos?
Hey guys, so I’ve been trying to figure out how to use youtube to proxy for watching geo-blocked vids. I know VPNs are the go-to, but sometimes they’re slow or get detected.
Has anyone found a solid method? Like, maybe using certain extensions or tweaking settings? I’ve heard mixed things about proxies, but idk if they’re reliable for youtube to proxy streaming.
Also, is it even safe? Don’t wanna get flagged or anything. Any tips or tools you’ve tested?
Thanks in advance!
(Ps. Sorry for typos, typing on mobile lol)
Hey! I’ve used SmartDNS in the past for youtube to proxy streaming, and it works pretty well. Unlike VPNs, it doesn’t slow down your connection since it only reroutes the DNS stuff.
Check out Unlocator or SmartDNS Proxy—they’re solid for geo-blocked content. Just make sure your ISP doesn’t block them.
Safety-wise, it’s low-risk since you’re not encrypting traffic like a VPN. But YMMV depending on the service.
Yo, have you tried using a browser extension like Hola? It’s a free proxy for youtube to proxy unblocking, but tbh it’s kinda sketchy.
I’d recommend Windscribe’s free plan instead. It’s a VPN, but it’s fast and doesn’t get detected as easily. Plus, they have a built-in ad blocker.
Just don’t use it for anything shady, and you’ll be fine.
Honestly, proxies for youtube to proxy streaming are hit or miss. Some work for a while, then get blocked.
If you’re tech-savvy, you could try setting up your own proxy with a VPS (like DigitalOcean). It’s more reliable, but takes some effort.
Otherwise, just stick with a paid VPN like Nord or Express. They’re worth the money if you need consistency.
I’ve had luck with Tor Browser for youtube to proxy access, but it’s SUPER slow for videos.
If speed matters, try Psiphon. It’s a free proxy/VPN hybrid that works decently for geo-blocked stuff. Not perfect, but better than nothing.
Just don’t expect HD quality lol.
OP here—thanks for all the suggestions! I tried SmartDNS and it worked like a charm for youtube to proxy streaming. No lag, which is a huge plus.
Quick question though: anyone know if YT can still track your real location with SmartDNS? Like, should I be worried about account issues?
Also, Windscribe’s free plan was a bust for me—kept disconnecting. Might just go paid if SmartDNS isn’t foolproof.
Appreciate the help!
Proxies are unreliable for youtube to proxy streaming because YT’s detection is pretty good.
Instead, try a service like StreamLocator. It’s built for this exact problem and doesn’t throttle your speed like some VPNs.
It’s not free, but it’s way more consistent than messing with random proxies.
Hey, just a heads-up—using youtube to proxy methods can sometimes trigger account flags if YT thinks you’re bypassing restrictions.
I’d recommend using a VPN with obfuscation (like Surfshark) to avoid detection. It’s safer than random proxies.
Also, clear your cookies before switching regions. Helps avoid weird errors.
Lol, I feel you on the VPN slowness. For youtube to proxy stuff, I’ve used UrbanVPN’s free version.
It’s not the best, but it’s okay for short vids. For longer stuff, I switch to ProtonVPN’s free servers.
Just avoid logging into your YT account while using it—better safe than sorry.
If you’re looking for a lightweight solution, check out the extension “Browsec.” It’s a proxy for youtube to proxy unblocking and works in-browser.
Not as secure as a VPN, but it’s quick and easy. Just don’t use it for anything sensitive.
Also, YT might still detect it after a while, so switch locations occasionally.
