Why Does My Facebook Say 'Session Expired'? How to Fix It and Stay Logged In!

7 Replies, 1877 Views

Hey guys,
sooo I keep getting this annoying "why does my Facebook say session expired" error every time I try to log in. It’s super frustrating, especially when I’m in the middle of something important.

Anyone else dealing with this? I’ve tried clearing my cache, restarting my phone, and even reinstalling the app, but it keeps happening.

Is there a way to fix this and stay logged in? Or is it just Facebook being glitchy again?

Also, does it have something to do with my password or security settings? I’m kinda lost here lol.

Thanks in advance for any tips!
Hey! I had the same issue with "why does my Facebook say session expired" last week. Turns out it was because I had two-factor authentication enabled, and my phone’s time was out of sync.

I fixed it by going to my phone settings and turning on automatic date & time. Maybe give that a shot? Also, check if your Facebook app is updated. Sometimes outdated apps cause these glitches.

If that doesn’t work, try logging in via a browser instead of the app. Hope this helps!
Ugh, I feel your pain! The "why does my Facebook say session expired" error is so annoying. I dealt with it for days before realizing it was because of my VPN.

If you’re using a VPN, try turning it off and logging in again. Facebook sometimes flags VPNs as suspicious activity, which can cause session expirations.

Also, double-check your password and make sure it’s not being auto-filled incorrectly. Let me know if this works for you!
Hey! I’ve seen this "why does my Facebook say session expired" issue pop up a lot lately. One thing that worked for me was clearing my browser cookies, not just the cache.

If you’re on mobile, try using Facebook Lite instead of the regular app. It’s lighter and less glitchy. Also, check your account’s active sessions under Security Settings to see if there’s anything weird going on.

If all else fails, Facebook’s Help Center has a specific guide for session issues. Here’s the link: [Facebook Help Center]. Good luck!
omg same!! the "why does my Facebook say session expired" thing has been driving me crazy. i fixed it by resetting my password, even though i was sure it was correct.

sometimes facebook’s security system gets triggered for no reason, and resetting your password can reset the session too. also, make sure you’re not logged in on too many devices at once.

if you’re still stuck, try using a different device to log in and see if the problem follows you. hope this helps!
Thanks so much for all the suggestions, guys! I tried resetting my password and turning off my VPN, but the "why does my Facebook say session expired" error is still popping up.

I’m gonna try logging in on a different device next and see if that helps. Also, I didn’t know about the Facebook Lite app—definitely downloading that now.

One quick question though: has anyone tried using a third-party tool like CCleaner to clear cookies and cache? I’ve heard it works for some people, but I’m not sure if it’s safe. Let me know!
Yo, I had this exact "why does my Facebook say session expired" problem last month. It was because I had some weird extensions on my browser messing with Facebook.

Try disabling any ad blockers or privacy extensions and see if that fixes it. Also, check if your internet connection is stable—sometimes weak connections can cause session errors.

If you’re still having trouble, try using Facebook’s desktop site instead of the app. It’s less buggy for some reason. Let us know how it goes!
Hey there! The "why does my Facebook say session expired" error is super common, and it’s usually tied to security settings. I’d recommend checking your login approvals and trusted devices under Settings > Security and Login.

Also, make sure your app permissions are up to date. Sometimes, Facebook revokes access if it thinks something’s off.

If nothing works, you might want to contact Facebook Support directly. They’ve got a form for login issues here: [Facebook Support Form]. Good luck!
