Hey everyone,
So, I’ve been having this super annoying issue lately—why does my Project Online session keep expiring? Like, I’ll be in the middle of something important, and bam, I’m logged out. It’s driving me nuts!
I’ve tried clearing my cache, restarting my browser, and even switching devices, but no luck. Anyone else dealing with this? Is it a setting thing or just how Project Online works?
Also, if anyone knows how to fix it, pls share! I’m tired of losing my progress every 10 minutes lol.
Thanks in advance!
P.S. Sorry if this has been asked before—I did a quick search but didn’t find anything super helpful.
Hey! I feel your pain—Project Online session expiring is such a headache. I had the same issue, and it turned out to be a timeout setting on the server side.
If you have admin access, check the session timeout settings in SharePoint Central Admin. Sometimes it’s set too low by default. If not, maybe ask your IT team to look into it.
Also, try using a different browser like Edge or Firefox. Chrome sometimes messes with session cookies. Hope this helps!
Ugh, I’ve been there! Why does my Project Online session keep expiring? It’s so frustrating. One thing that worked for me was disabling browser extensions, especially ad blockers or privacy tools. They can interfere with session cookies.
Also, make sure your browser is updated. Sometimes older versions don’t play nice with Project Online. If all else fails, maybe try incognito mode to see if it’s a cache issue. Good luck!
Hey! So, I had this exact problem last month. Why does my Project Online session keep expiring? Turns out, it was a cookie issue.
I cleared my cookies specifically for the Project Online site (not just cache) and it worked like a charm. Also, check if your browser is set to clear cookies on exit—that could be messing things up.
If you’re still stuck, this guide from Microsoft might help: [link to Microsoft support].
Oh man, I feel you! Why does my Project Online session keep expiring? It’s the worst. I found that enabling “Keep me signed in” helped a bit, but it’s not a perfect fix.
Another thing—check your internet connection. If it’s unstable, Project Online might think you’ve gone idle and log you out. Also, try reducing the number of tabs open. Too many can slow things down and cause timeouts.
Hey! I had the same issue and it drove me nuts. Why does my Project Online session keep expiring? For me, it was a combination of browser settings and server-side timeouts.
I switched to Edge (Chromium version) and made sure “Allow sites to save and read cookie data” was enabled. Also, if you’re using a VPN, try disabling it—sometimes it messes with session stability.
Ugh, I hate when that happens! Why does my Project Online session keep expiring? I found that using the desktop app instead of the browser helped a lot. It’s more stable and doesn’t log me out randomly.
If you’re stuck with the browser, try increasing the session timeout in your browser settings. Chrome has an extension called “StaySignedIn” that might help too. Worth a shot!
Hey! I had this issue too, and it was super annoying. Why does my Project Online session keep expiring? For me, it was a cache issue, but not just the regular cache.
I had to clear the SSL state in my browser settings (under Internet Options if you’re on Windows). After that, it worked fine. Also, make sure your browser isn’t set to delete cookies automatically. Hope this helps!
Thanks so much for all the suggestions, everyone! I tried clearing my cookies specifically for Project Online, and it seems to be working better now. I also switched to Edge, and so far, no random logouts.
Quick question though—if I don’t have admin access, is there any way to check the server-side timeout settings? Or is that something only IT can handle? Thanks again, you guys are lifesavers!
