First time dealing with gearbox trouble, need some local advice - lindsaykelly - 17-03-2026
Just moved to the industrial area for work and my sedan started making this horrible grinding noise whenever I shift into third gear. Took it to a regular garage down the road and the mechanic there said the synchros are probably gone and I'd need a full gearbox rebuild, which honestly scared me a bit because I have no clue about costs or who to trust around here. Been reading up on it and came across this place called [https://gearboxrepairsharjah.ae/] that seems to specialize in this kind of thing. Has anyone here actually used them before for a manual transmission rebuild? I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth towing it all the way out there or if I should just cut my losses and look for a used gearbox instead. Any local experiences would be really appreciated because I'm a bit lost with this one.
