Proxy settings tell your device to use a middleman server before hitting the internet.

They’re handy for:
- Privacy (kinda)
- Accessing geo-blocked content
- Avoiding IP-based restrictions

But they’re not foolproof. Some sites block proxies, and free ones can be unsafe.

To set ‘em up:
- Windows: Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings
- Mac: Network > Advanced > Proxies
