Hey everyone,

So, I’ve been running into this *ovpnagent: request error* thing lately, and it’s driving me nuts. 😩 Every time I try to connect to my VPN, it just throws this error and refuses to work. I’ve tried restarting the service, reinstalling the client, and even rebooting my machine, but no luck.

Anyone else dealing with this *ovpnagent: request error*? If so, how’d you fix it? I’m kinda stuck here and would really appreciate any tips or workarounds.

Also, is this something on the server side or just my setup acting up? Let me know if you’ve got any ideas!

Cheers!
Hey, I had the same ovpnagent: request error last week! Turns out it was a conflict with my firewall settings. I disabled the firewall temporarily, and it worked. Maybe give that a shot? Also, check if your VPN client is updated. Sometimes outdated versions cause this issue.

If you're still stuck, try OpenVPN's troubleshooting guide: https://openvpn.net/community-resources/...eshooting/

Good luck!
Ugh, the ovpnagent: request error is such a pain. I fixed mine by clearing the cache and config files. Go to your OpenVPN folder, delete the cache, and restart the service. Worked like a charm for me.

Also, check if your server is up and running. Sometimes it’s just a server-side hiccup.
Hey! I’ve seen this ovpnagent: request error before. For me, it was a DNS issue. Try switching to Google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) and see if that helps.

If not, maybe try a different VPN client like WireGuard or SoftEther as a temporary workaround.
Yo, I feel your pain with the ovpnagent: request error. I fixed mine by reinstalling the TAP adapter. Go to Device Manager, uninstall the TAP adapter, and reinstall it from the OpenVPN installer.

Also, check if your antivirus is blocking the connection. Sometimes it messes with VPNs.
Wow, thanks for all the suggestions, everyone! I tried running the client as admin, and it worked! No more ovpnagent: request error for now.

I’ll also check the logs and clear the cache just to be safe. Appreciate all the help!

Quick question though—if this happens again, should I just switch to a different VPN client like WireGuard, or is there a way to prevent this error entirely?

Thanks again!
Hey, I had the same issue with ovpnagent: request error. It turned out to be a certificate problem. Make sure your certs are up to date and properly configured.

If you’re using a custom config, double-check the settings. A misplaced line can cause this error.
I’ve been dealing with the ovpnagent: request error for a while now. What worked for me was running the client as an admin. Right-click the OpenVPN GUI and select “Run as Administrator.”

Also, check your logs. They might give you a clue about what’s going wrong.
Hey, I had this ovpnagent: request error too. It was a port issue for me. Make sure the port your VPN is using isn’t blocked by your ISP or router.

You can also try switching to a different port in your config file. Sometimes that does the trick.
Ugh, the ovpnagent: request error is the worst. I fixed mine by resetting my network settings. Go to Command Prompt and type:
`netsh int ip reset`
`netsh winsock reset`

Then restart your PC. Worked for me!
