Is anyone else dealing with the weibu extension connection timeout issue? Mine keeps dropping every few mins, and it's driving me nuts. Tried restarting Chrome, reinstalling the extension, nada.
Sometimes it works fine, then boom—timeout again. 😤
Things I’ve tried:
- Clearing cache/cookies
- Disabling other extensions (no luck)
- Switching networks (still happens)
Anyone found a solid fix? Or is this a server-side thing?
Also, weirdly, it’s worse during peak hours. Coincidence?

Also, try using a VPN. Sometimes regional routing gets weird. I used NordVPN (free trial worked) and it stabilized.
Peak hours = more load, so could be server-side. Maybe ping their support @weibuhelp on Twitter? They’re usually responsive.

OMG the weibu extension connection timeout is the worst! Mine fixed itself after I deleted all Chrome profiles and made a new one.
Also, check if your ISP is throttling. Use a speed test during peak hours (fast.com). If speeds drop, call them and complain.
Last resort: portable Chrome version (PortableApps.com). Fresh install, no baggage. Worked for my friend.
Thanks everyone! Tried the DNS switch to Cloudflare and disabled hardware acceleration—way fewer weibu extension connection timeouts now. Still happens sometimes tho.
Weird thing: it’s flawless on my phone (same network). Maybe a Chrome bug? Gonna test Firefox like @user3 suggested.
