Anyone else getting 'Instagram something went wrong in browser' error? How to fix?

Hey everyone,

Is anyone else getting the "instagram something went wrong in browser" error? I’ve been trying to log in for the past hour, and it keeps showing this message. I’m using Chrome, and it’s super frustrating.

I’ve already tried clearing my cache and cookies, but no luck. Also, it works fine on the app, but I need to access it on my browser for work stuff.

Anyone figured out how to fix this? Or is it just me? Maybe it’s a bug on their end?

Thanks in advance for any help!

P.S. If it matters, I’m on Windows 10.
Hey! I had the same "instagram something went wrong in browser" issue last week.

What worked for me was disabling all my Chrome extensions temporarily. Turns out, one of them was messing with Instagram's scripts.

Try going to chrome://extensions/ and turning them off one by one to see if it helps. Also, make sure your Chrome is updated to the latest version.

Good luck!
Ugh, the "instagram something went wrong in browser" error is the worst. I feel your pain!

I switched to Microsoft Edge as a temporary fix, and it worked fine. Maybe try another browser like Firefox or Edge?

If you’re stuck on Chrome, you could also try using a VPN. Sometimes Instagram acts up based on your location or IP.

Hope this helps!
Yo, I’ve been dealing with the "instagram something went wrong in browser" thing too. Super annoying.

Have you tried logging in via incognito mode? That sometimes bypasses the issue. Also, check if your ad blocker is causing it—Instagram hates those.

If nothing works, maybe try a tool like DownDetector to see if it’s a widespread issue.
Hey! I had the same "instagram something went wrong in browser" problem yesterday.

What fixed it for me was resetting my Chrome settings. Go to Settings > Reset settings > Restore settings to their original defaults.

It’s a bit drastic, but it worked for me. Also, make sure your Windows 10 is updated—sometimes outdated OS versions cause weird bugs.
Oh man, the "instagram something went wrong in browser" error is such a headache.

I’d recommend trying a different network or even your phone’s hotspot. Sometimes it’s a network issue.

Also, check if your browser’s JavaScript is enabled. Instagram relies heavily on it, and if it’s disabled, things break.
Thanks so much for all the suggestions, everyone! I tried the incognito mode trick, and it worked like a charm.

I also disabled my ad blocker, and that seemed to help too. Still not sure why it was acting up, but at least I can log in now.

I’ll keep the other tips in mind if it happens again. You guys are lifesavers!
Hey! I’ve seen the "instagram something went wrong in browser" error a few times.

One thing that helped me was using a user-agent switcher extension to make Chrome think it’s a different browser. Sounds weird, but it worked!

You can also try clearing your DNS cache. Open Command Prompt and type "ipconfig /flushdns".
Ugh, the "instagram something went wrong in browser" error is so frustrating.

I’d suggest trying a different device if you can. If it works there, it’s definitely a browser or system issue.

Also, check Instagram’s official status page or Twitter account to see if they’ve acknowledged the problem. Sometimes it’s just their servers acting up.
