So I’ve been looking into scrapehero for a project, and I’m curious—has anyone here actually used it?
How’s the reliability? Like, does it handle those annoying CAPTCHAs or just give up halfway? Also, how’s the speed for larger jobs?
I’ve tried a couple other tools, but scrapehero keeps popping up in recommendations. Just wanna know if it’s worth the time/money before diving in.

I used scrapehero for a small project last month, and honestly? It was hit or miss.
Handled basic scraping fine, but CAPTCHAs? Nah, it struggled. Had to manually intervene a few times.
For larger jobs, speed was decent but not blazing fast. If you're looking for alternatives, maybe check out Octoparse or ParseHub—they’ve got better CAPTCHA handling IMO.
Scrapehero’s reliability depends on the site you’re scraping.
Simple sites? Works like a charm.
But if you’re dealing with heavy anti-scraping measures, it’ll choke. Speed is okay for medium-sized jobs, but don’t expect miracles.
Pro tip: Pair it with a proxy service to avoid IP bans.
