Title: Does Anyone Know How Many Videos YouTube Actually Has?

Hey guys,

I was just wondering... does anyone have a clue *how many videos youtube* has right now? Like, is there even a way to keep track?

I tried googling it but the numbers are all over the place. Some say 800 billion, others say way less. And with new uploads every second, it’s gotta be impossible to pin down, right?

Also, does YouTube itself even know? Or do they just ballpark it?

Kinda crazy to think about how much content is out there. Anyway, if anyone’s got a solid answer or even a guess, drop it below!

Cheers!
Yo! That's a wild question, man. I don't think even YouTube knows *exactly* how many videos youtube has at any given moment.

But I did find this site called "Internet Live Stats" that estimates it in real-time. It’s not perfect, but it’s the closest thing I’ve seen.

Also, think about how many get deleted or privated every day. Makes it even harder to count!
Honestly, I doubt there’s a *real* answer. YouTube’s algorithm is constantly removing stuff, and new uploads are non-stop.

But if you’re curious about trends, check out "YouTube’s Official Blog." They sometimes drop stats like daily uploads, which might help you guess.

Still, how many videos youtube has total? Probably a number so big it doesn’t even matter lol.
Funny you ask! I was just reading about this. YouTube *does* track it internally, but they don’t share the exact count publicly.

Some third-party tools like "Social Blade" give estimates, but they’re just guesses based on upload rates.

And yeah, with 500+ hours uploaded every *minute*, good luck getting a precise number!
Dude, it’s literally impossible to know. Even if you could count how many videos youtube has today, the number would be wrong tomorrow.

I saw a vid where a dev said YouTube’s database is so massive, they don’t even bother counting—they just measure storage used.

Kinda mind-blowing when you think about it.
I’ve always wondered this too! From what I’ve read, YouTube *could* tell us, but they don’t. Maybe ‘cause it’s always changing?

There’s this tool called "Statista" that has historical data, but it’s not live. Still, gives you an idea of the scale.

Wild to think how many videos youtube has compared to, like, 10 years ago.
Short answer: No one knows.

Long answer: YouTube’s system is too dynamic for a static number. Even if you got a count, it’d be outdated in seconds.

But if you’re into stats, "YouTube Analytics" for creators shows *some* data. Just not the total.

Still, fun to think about!
Wow, thanks for all the replies! Didn’t realize it was such a mystery.

I checked out Internet Live Stats and Social Blade like some of you mentioned, and yeah—it’s all estimates. Crazy how fast it changes!

Follow-up Q: Does anyone know if YouTube’s *oldest* video is still up? Now I’m curious about that too.
