"Why can't I change my chrome browser proxy settings? Help!"
ugh, so frustrated rn. Trying to update my chrome browser proxy settings, but it just won’t let me??
Every time I go to *Settings > System > Open proxy settings*, it opens the Windows thingy, but changes don’t stick. Am I missing something?
Also, why’s chrome browser proxy settings so buried now? Used to be easier to find.
Anyone else dealing with this? Or know a fix? Pls halp 😅

Hey! Had the same issue last week. Turns out Chrome browser proxy settings are kinda tied to your system settings now.
Try this:
- Go to *chrome://settings/system*
- Click "Open your computer’s proxy settings"
- Make sure you hit *Save* in the Windows panel (easy to miss).
If it still doesn’t stick, maybe check if any antivirus is blocking it? Some apps override proxy settings silently.

tried Proxy SwitchyOmega and it worked like a charm!! also checked *chrome://policy/* and it was empty, so no admin locks.

lol chrome browser proxy settings are basically a prank at this point.
if you’re on Win10/11, try:
1. Win + I > Network & Internet > Proxy
2. Toggle "Automatically detect settings" OFF
3. Manually enter your proxy deets.
if it still resets, might be a group policy thing. good luck!
