Hey y’all,
So, I got banned from a subreddit (long story lol) and I’m wondering how long does it take reddit unban your account? Like, do they even respond to appeals?
I’ve heard some ppl say it’s quick, like a few days, but others say it takes weeks or even months. Wtf??
Has anyone here actually been unbanned? How long did it take for you? Did you just wait it out or did you have to message the mods a bunch?
Also, does it depend on the subreddit or is it the same across the board?
Kinda stressed rn bc I miss my fav communities lol. Any advice or experiences would be super helpful!
Thanks in advance! 🙏
Hey! So, I’ve been in your shoes before, and honestly, it really depends on the subreddit and the mods. Some subreddits are super strict and take weeks to even look at appeals, while others might unban you in a few days if you’re polite and explain your side.
From my experience, messaging the mods once or twice is fine, but don’t spam them—it can backfire. Also, check the subreddit rules to see if they mention anything about bans or appeals.
As for how long does it take reddit unban your account, it’s not consistent at all. Some people get unbanned in a week, others never hear back. It’s frustrating, but patience is key.
Good luck!
Lol been there. Honestly, it’s a crapshoot. Some mods are chill and will unban you if you apologize and promise to follow the rules. Others? Nah, they’ll ghost you forever.
I got banned from a sub once and messaged the mods like 3 times over a month. They finally replied and unbanned me, but it took forever. So yeah, how long does it take reddit unban your account? Could be days, could be never.
If you’re really desperate, you could try making a new account, but be careful—Reddit’s pretty good at catching that stuff.
Hey! So, I’ve been banned a couple times (oops lol), and it really depends on the subreddit and the mods. Some subs have automated systems and won’t even respond to appeals, while others are more lenient.
From what I’ve seen, how long does it take reddit unban your account can range from a few days to never. If you’re polite and explain why you think the ban was unfair, you might have a shot. But don’t get your hopes up—some mods just don’t care.
Also, check out r/ShadowBan or r/ModSupport for advice. They’ve got some good tips on dealing with bans and appeals.
Ugh, bans are the worst. I got banned from a sub once for a dumb reason, and it took like 2 weeks to get unbanned. I messaged the mods once, apologized, and they let me back in.
But yeah, how long does it take reddit unban your account really depends on the subreddit. Some mods are super active and will respond quickly, while others take forever.
My advice? Be polite, don’t argue, and don’t spam them. If they don’t respond after a couple of messages, it’s probably a lost cause.
Honestly, it’s a mixed bag. I’ve heard of people getting unbanned in a day, and others waiting months with no response. It really depends on the subreddit and the mods.
If you’re wondering how long does it take reddit unban your account, there’s no clear answer. Some subs have strict policies and won’t even consider appeals, while others are more forgiving.
I’d recommend checking the sub’s rules and seeing if they mention anything about bans. If they do, follow their process. If not, just message the mods politely and hope for the best.
Good luck!

Wow, thanks so much for all the replies, y’all! I didn’t expect so many people to share their experiences. It’s kinda reassuring to know I’m not the only one dealing with this lol.
I messaged the mods yesterday and apologized, so fingers crossed they’ll respond soon. I’ll definitely check out r/ShadowBan and r/ModSupport too—thanks for the tip!
One more question though: if they don’t respond, is it worth trying to message them again after a week or so? Or should I just give up and move on?
Thanks again, everyone! 🙏
