Title: How to Off Proxy? Need Help Disabling It Properly!

Hey guys,

So I’ve been messing with proxy settings for a project, and now I’m stuck trying to figure out *how to off proxy* without breaking anything. 😅

I turned it on ages ago and totally forgot how I did it. Now my internet’s acting weird, and I just wanna go back to normal. Tried googling but half the guides are too technical or outdated.

Anyone know the *right* way to disable it? Like, step-by-step for Windows 10? Or maybe a quick cmd trick?

Also, will turning it off mess with my other settings? Lowkey scared I’ll screw something up lol.

Thanks in advance! 🙏
Hey! If you're trying to figure out how to off proxy on Windows 10, here's a quick fix:

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy.
Under "Manual proxy setup," toggle off "Use a proxy server."

Also, check "Automatically detect settings" just in case. Sometimes leftovers mess with things.

If your internet’s still weird, try flushing DNS with `ipconfig /flushdns` in cmd. Works like a charm for me!
lol been there! Forgot how to off proxy once and spent hours troubleshooting.

Easiest way: Press Win + R, type `inetcpl.cpl`, hit Enter. Go to Connections > LAN settings.

Uncheck "Use a proxy server for your LAN." Boom, done.

If stuff’s still broken, restart your router. Old proxies love to haunt connections.
Yo, disabling a proxy isn’t too hard, but yeah, some guides overcomplicate it.

For Windows 10:
1. Open Control Panel > Internet Options.
2. Connections tab > LAN settings.
3. Uncheck the proxy box and hit OK.

Pro tip: Run `netsh winsock reset` in admin cmd if things feel off after. Fixes weird network glitches.
If you’re scared about messing things up, just reset your network settings entirely.

Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset.

This nukes all proxy settings and brings everything back to default. Super handy if you’re unsure how to off proxy safely.

Downside? You’ll need to reconnect to Wi-Fi after. Small price to pay tho!
Bro, same issue here last week! Go to Chrome (or whatever browser you use) and check its proxy settings too.

Sometimes Windows is fine, but the browser’s still stuck on a proxy.

In Chrome: Settings > System > Open proxy settings. Then disable it there.

Double-checking both places saved me a headache.
For a cmd trick, try this:

`reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyServer /f`

This deletes the proxy server entry in the registry. Then reboot.

Works if the usual methods don’t. Just be careful with regedit—don’t touch other stuff!
OP here—thanks everyone! Tried the LAN settings trick and flushed DNS, and it’s working now.

Weirdly, Chrome was still acting up until I unchecked the proxy box there too. Didn’t realize browsers had separate settings.

One last thing: will resetting the network mess with my VPN? I use one occasionally and don’t wanna break it.

Y’all are lifesavers! 🙌
If you’re still stuck, try using a tool like ProxyCap or Fiddler to see if any sneaky proxies are still active.

Sometimes apps override system settings, and these tools help spot ’em.

But for most cases, just toggling it off in Windows settings should do the trick.
