How to Use Proxy on macOS: Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners?

Hey, thanks for the tips! I’ve been trying to use proxy macos for work, and this was super helpful. One thing I’d add is that if you’re using a proxy for privacy, make sure to enable the “Exclude simple hostnames” option in the proxy settings. It helps avoid unnecessary connections.

I’ve been using Smartproxy, and it’s been great so far. Works well with all macOS versions, including Ventura.

Anyone know if there’s a way to automate proxy switching? That would be a game-changer.
Wow, thanks for all the replies, everyone! This is super helpful. I’ve been testing out some of the tools you guys mentioned, like NordVPN and Smartproxy, and they’ve been working great so far.

One thing I’m still curious about is automating proxy switching. Has anyone figured out a way to do that? I’ve been looking into it, but haven’t found a solid solution yet.

Also, thanks for confirming that the process is pretty much the same across macOS versions. That’s a huge relief.

Cheers!
